How To Become a More Strategic Thinker
Being one with a strategic mindset can change the life of anyone, and those who think strategically are usually the ones who become successful in life.
It takes strategic thinking and planning to make anything at all hugely successful. It takes strategic planning to become the best student, the best worker, the best businessman or manager, or the owner of an institution or establishment. It takes strategic planning to become the best preacher of God’s Word.
This is because, in all these types of endeavors, you always have a large workload to deal with, and it’s only with wise, strategic planning that you can handle the amount of work you have to deal with, and also drive what you have to do forward through strategy that is full of wisdom for results.
The question then is, how about if you want to improve your strategic/planning skills. Is it possible to be someone who is not so good in planning/strategy, and then become one if you really want to? Can you become a strategic planner, if you were never someone like that? Some think that you cannot change your ability to be organized, orderly or strategic. This is not so true however.
You can become anything you want to become in life, because all of success, including being a person of strategy, is based on skills, and every skill is LEARNABLE.
ALL OF SUCCESS IS BASED ON SKILLS, AND ALL SKILLS ARE LEARNABLE.
The simple way to have a skill is to practice it every day until it becomes a part of you. At this point, it is called a HABIT. When it becomes a habit, you would start doing it without even THINKING of it, and that skill would become part of your MAKE UP. In other words, you would have changed into that sort of person!
You could do ANYTHING to the extent that it we actually become it. We can practice ANY habit of success until we actually BECOME, or MANIFEST as a success.
Faith teaches us this. It teaches us to ACT on the Word of God until it SHOWS that we have started manifesting it.
If there is any skill you know is part of being a person of excellence, know that you can actually add it to yourself, simply by DOING it continually.
The Bible tells us, ’Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.’ – James 1:22
In other words, change your skillset into the skillset of the Word, into the skillset of success, by constantly doing the acts of the Word, by constantly DOING the acts of success.
So thinking strategically is actually possible, even if you have never been able to do it before, if you can start doing or practicing it.
But what does it actually take to do this?
- Write down a to-do list
Planners are writers. If you are having challenges being a strategic thinker and planner, chances are, you might have never written down your plans before.
The simplest place to start doing this, and changing into a strategic person, is writing down a simple LIST of what you want to accomplish during the day. This would start building up the mindset of the strategic in you day by day.
It might take weeks or months for this to happen, but it surely will.
- Write down your goals
What do you want to achieve before the end of this year? Have you written it down?
In 5 years from now, what would you love to have accomplished? Are you VERY clear about it? Have you WRITTEN it down?
How old would you be in 10 years time? When you are that age, what would you love to have accomplished? Are you clear about it? Have you WRITTEN it down?
A goal is like a prayer. You might need something, but God might not step in just because you need it. He still wants you to pray, then He would make it happen for you. In the same way, God might not step in and make you move forward just because you need it. He knows you need it, but He still wants you to WRITE a goal in that area. When you write a goal, He would step in and make you achieve it. I have experienced this time and again in my life.
Sit up today, and start taking your goals seriously. You are a success and full of excellence, inside.
Let it come out!!
