The Most Important Thing

What is the most important thing in our life’s journey? What is the most important thing in serving Christ?

There are certain Christians whose major reason for serving the Lord is to get physical manifestations in their lives. They are there mostly because of what they would physically get out of serving God.

However, there is another set of Christians who are there, not because of what they would physically get from their relationship with the master, but just because they love Him so much.

Look at this:

One of the teachers of religious law was standing there listening to the debate. He realized that Jesus had answered well, so he asked, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” Jesus replied,

“The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”

Mark 12:28‭-‬31 NLT

Jesus said that the most important thing we need to do in our lives is to love the Lord!

You see, no matter who we are – the rich or the poor, the weak or the strong, the good or the wicked, we were all made by the same God in heaven. And He didn’t necessarily make us for us to be the way we are now. He didn’t want to make robots who would obey, serve, and love Him because they HAVE TO, He wanted to make people who would obey, love, and serve Him because they CHOSE TO.

So, basically, the Lord is testing us to see what we would do if we had great pressure not to act out our love for Him. He wants to see our hearts, and this is what is most important to Him.

Sometimes, we want to see the hand of the Lord moving and giving us answers in our physical lives. However, what is most important to Him, is that our hearts are right with Him. If you want more manifestations of the power of God in your life, the love for God in your heart is the most important thing.

Make a new commitment to loving Jesus today. If you don’t really feel that love for Him inside you, no worries. Just pray for it. He will answer if you keep genuinely asking for it.

Your heart is most important to the Lord. It will be right, and full of love for Him, in Jesus Name.

CONFESSION

I am full of love for my heavenly Father. I am not just with Him because of the physical things He can give me. Rather, I love Him deeply and selflessly in Jesus Name. I put the Kingdom first in my life, never second, and every other thing is added unto me like the Word says. Amen.

MORE LIGHT (MEDITATE ON AND PRAY WITH THESE)
Matthew 6:33 NLT Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

2 Corinthians 5:14‭-‬15 NLT Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

Luke 12:29‭-‬31 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
