A Fail-Safe Way to Know the Will of God

A Fail-Safe Way to Know the Will of God

ROMANS 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

We discussed yesterday how great grace can be released on our lives when we know God’s plan for us, and we start doing it. Today, we shall look at a scripture passage that talks deeply about this same topic.

The verse in question is the one above.

ROMANS 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

This verse talks about THE KINGDOM OF GOD. So it’s good to start by asking, What is the Kingdom of God?

Well, simply put, the Kingdom Of God is the reign of God’s will and plan in the lives of men.

In other words, obeying God’s will and plan (which is His purpose) for your life is MAKING THE KINGDOM OF GOD TO REIGN IN YOUR LIFE.

What this verse is actually talking about is ‘How do you know you are walking in the Kingdom of God (in the will of God) in your life, and what would you see to prove that you are really walking in it?

Well, the verse says, knowing that you are walking in this reign of the will of God in your life is not when you notice that you are now taking more food and drink, nor is it necessarily when you even have more cash to do so!

Well then, how are you going to know?

It says, you’ll know when you see these 3 things in your life: RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE, AND JOY IN THE HOLY GHOST.

1. RIGHTEOUSNESS: What is righteousness? Righteousness is, simply put, being on the Lord’s side. This means you know, somehow, when you check the Words of the Lord to you, that you are in the will of God.

This is one way you know you are living in the Kingdom (will) of God.

2. PEACE: One of the most important and powerful ways to know you are in the will of God, is GOD’S PEACE.

One of the most powerful ways you’ll know if that person is the right person for you in that relationship for example, is, do you feel peace in your spirit when you think of it? Do you feel peace in your spirit when you are with him/her? Or does your flesh just feel happy? This is not the peace we are talking about.

There are many times when your body is happy, but your spirit is not at peace.

Always spend time speaking in tongues (you can contact us if you need this gift). Your spirit gets much more sensitive to the promptings of the Spirit when you do this. Then, DO NOT take it lightly when you are not feeling peace on a particular issue.

Find out WHY you are not feeling peace, and DO SOMETHING about it, until you feel peace in your spirit.

3. JOY IN THE SPIRIT: When you are living in the will of God, there might be so many challenges around you, but you just feel JOY in your inside. When you turn on the Holy Ghost and start worshipping God you feel joy bubbling up on your inside. Glory!

This is the joy of the Holy Ghost, and it is a sign that you are living in the will of the Father!

Notice that you eating and drinking more (or having more money to do so) is NOT necessarily a sign that you are living in the will of God.

God wants you to have these things, but they are not the sign that you are in the will of God. There are a lot of people not living in the in the will of God, but with enough to spend!

We were never made to struggle in our lives. The way we can live in the rest and great help and provision of the Holy Spirit, is to discover the Spirit’s will concerning us, and to walk in it.

To round up, an almost fail-proof way to know, and live permanently in the GRACE-PRODUCING will of God, is to:

1. Always take out time to fellowship with the Spirit. Seek for the gift of tongues, and always use it.

2. NEVER PLAY WITH PEACE IN YOUR SPIRIT. This is the commonest way the Spirit leads us. Make it a habit to PAUSE and CHECK YOUR SPIRIT before taking any decision. If you feel peace, go ahead. If you don’t, find out what the Spirit wants you to do.

3. Always be sensitive to the voice of the Spirit. Talk to Him as you go through your day. The easiest way to do so is to tell Him Thank you Jesus! or Thank you Lord!.

Keep winning in life. This grace-producing power is yours in Jesus’ Name.

PRAYER:

Father, I thank you for giving me your Holy Spirit to lead me and guide me away from trouble into the the glory that you have planned for me. I confess that I am taking full advantage of the leading of your Spirit, and I am walking away from trouble, helping people, and living in your glory, as a result, in Jesus Name. Thank You Lord.
