What Really is Poverty?
Genesis1:1-4, 31; 2:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness …
Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished.
The scripture passage above is a very interesting one. There are a lot of things to notice there.
We can go on and on talking about the understanding taught in this passage, but one very important one is that God certainly had NO money when He started out on acheiving this largest of all projects – the building of the whole world itself.
In fact, if the meaning of poverty were the lack of money, then God was extremely poor at this point in time; for He had nothing like that on Him.
This suggests that we might have to revise our definition of poverty, actually. Because if we had whatever God had in this place, then nothing would be impossible to us!
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 1:3 that “We understand that THE WORLDS WERE FRAMED BY THE WORD OF GOD, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”
God used THE WORD to create the whole world. – God never needed any money to complete this “building” project, because He had the CONTROLLER of money in His mouth, which is the Word of God.
Because we are made in the image of God (Genesis1:27), we are made to perform in exactly the same way.
The only thing you need for the completion of ANY project that you are embarking, just like God, is the Word of God!
If you have large projects in your heart right now, and you don’t have any money on you at all, then you are just like God was then. The vision of God in your heart, and His Word in your mouth, is more precious right now than any amount in your bank account; to the fulfilment of your vision!
Believe in the vision that God has placed in your heart today; proclaim the Word of God
into your world, and watch the power of God recreate everything around you!
CONFESSION
As Jesus is, so I am in this world. The vision of God is in my heart, the Word of God is in my mouth. I am brooding on the Word of God everyday, and I am speaking it out into My world! The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, I have a goodly heritage.
I am focusing on the Word of God, and God’s vision, in My life. I am a success in all I do. Nothing can stop me! I know who I am. I am moving forward everyday in Jesus’ mighty Name!
