Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Jesus basically said here that the Word of God is food for the human spirit. Just like your body needs physical food to be alive. Your spirit (the real you) needs the Word of God to be alive.

John 1:4,9 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

The passage above was actually talking about the Word of God (John 1:1). EVERY man in the world actually needs the life and light that the Word gives. Without it you would be dead.

John 6:48,50 I am that bread of life. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

The Word of God is life, the Word of God is Jesus. The Word of God is what gives us life. Not just life, but eternal life.

John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Eating the flesh of Jesus is studying His Word, and drinking His Blood is accepting and confessing His sacrifice on the cross.

Also, just like physical food and exercise would help your body grow from a child into a strong man, the Word of God and exercise (putting your faith to work), would make you grow into a strong being in the spirit realm, hallelujah.

This is unique to man. The Bible does not tell us that angels grow. But it tells us to desire the sincere milk of the Word, that we may grow (1 Peter 2:2). It also tells us that we are meant to grow into the stature of the fulness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13).

You grow by studying and meditating on the Word of God, and putting your faith to work. In so doing, you can become as Jesus is, on the earth, praise God.

Again, when you speak words, something comes out of your mouth. It’s called breath. See this:

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

We get our very life from the Word. The Word is life (John 1:4). When that breath of life (the breath of the Word) leaves our bodies, the body becomes dead.

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

When you take in the Word, you spiritually grow into your glorious destiny and purpose in Christ (1 Peter 2:2, Ephesians 4:13).

Take it in today, and achieve your greatness in Jesus Name!

CONFESSION

I am full of love for the Word, and I am taking it in everyday. I am growing into the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ, and I am fulfilling my glorious destiny in life and in Christ. I am receiving the sincere milk from the Word, and I am more than a conqueror in everything that concerns me, hallelujah!
