Someone sent me a message some days ago saying they keep seeing themselves asking Jesus into their lives, yet going back to sin again and again. You might find the answer interesting. Names have been changed to protect identities. Enjoy!

Hello James…

How is it?

You sent me a question a couple of days ago, and indicated that you have been accepting Christ time after time, and still sin after this.

I have something that would help with this.

Sometimes, when people keep on ‘accepting Jesus’ into their lives and still going back to sin, it’s usually because they have been focusing on the wrong thing. It is usually because they are focusing on their sins and not on the Word of God.

The walk in Christ is not a walk of pushing ourselves to become the type of Christian that we would love to be: it is a walk of GOD (not us) turning us into the type of person He dreams making us into. The Bible says in Isaiah 1:18 ‘Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.’ Hallelujah.

You see, God wants us come to Him, and allow Him cleanse us with His power; not for us to try to clean up our act first, and then come to Him.

You don’t need to accept Jesus Christ, then go and try to fight to stop your old lifestyle! You need to give your life to Christ, and then go to God through His Word and allow Him to change your life through His Word.

The Bible tells us that all you need for GOD (not yourself) to save you from your former lifestyle is to confess him as your Lord:

Rom 10:9 Because if you confess the Lordship of Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.

In other words, you don’t need to ‘try’ to change your life after you give your life to Christ: all you need to do is accept Him into your life, and confess Him as your Lord with your mouth; then the Bible says THE LORD WOULD SAVE YOU FROM YOUR FORMER LIFESTYLE EVEN AS YOU COMMIT YOURSELF TO STUDY HIS WORD REGULARLY.

Just say this out of your mouth now:

I thank you Lord, that you sent your Son Jesus into this world to give His life for me. I confess Him today as my personal Lord and Saviour. The Word of God says if I confess Him as my Lord, I would be saved from everything plaguing me. I have done this now, therefore I am now saved from everything that used to hold me back. Hallelujah. I am born again now, and full of strength and of the Spirit. Thank you Father, in Jesus’ Name.
