The Voice of the Stranger

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Rom 8:14.

The way we move forward as believers is through the voice of God. We must make sure we don’t listen to the voice of the stranger.

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Isa.30.21

As a child of God, if you haven’t learned to listen and act, it’s difficult to advance. Do you have to hear God speak concerning almost everything in your life? Yes, He speaks to help us walk in His perfect will for us. What if God does not speak to me? God speaks to His children; you just need to develop the habit of listening and acting. Jesus said, ‘My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me (John 10.27).

Once you have the right strategy, you can accomplish any given task or project. All this information is in your spirit and in God’s Word, which the Holy Spirit guides you into. But if you keep acting on your own without the right information, you will keep getting the wrong or just a good enough result, not the best result. God wants us as believers to enjoy His perfect will; this is the reason He speaks to us, teaches us, and gives us revelations.

And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. John 10:5

The voice of the stranger is anything or any situation that speaks contrary to what God says. You see, when you receive a revelation and it feels like with this new information, everything is going to change, that voice that comes afterwards and makes you doubt by asking you questions like, Are you sure? Or Have you not had this feeling before? Did anything really change?’ That is the voice of the stranger.

In the Garden of Eden, when The serpent came to tempt Eve, this was the same formula used (Gen 3:1–4). He’s still using the same formula to rob you of your next level miracle today.

Peter walked on water. Mind you, this was even before he was born again. The moment Jesus said to Peter, Come, Peter got up and obeyed. In the midst of his obedience, something drew his attention to the storm around him, even though this storm was there before he started walking on water. That was the voice of the stranger.

God has told you He will make a way. And now when you watch the news, it’s like things are just getting worse, and you are afraid, you have forgotten what God said. This is what it means to listen to the voice of the stranger.

Jairus came to meet Jesus to heal his daughter, and while they were on their way, news came to him that his daughter was dead (Mrk 5:35). What did Jesus say? ‘Do not be afraid; only believe’. What does this mean? ‘ Hold on’. This is what God is telling you today, ‘Hold on to my Word, keep speaking My Word and hold on no matter what!’.

And you will see the awesome power of God as you keep on speaking His Word, Amen!

CONFESSION
I listen to and obey the voice of the Lord. I am not distracted by the roaring of the devil. I am speaking God’s Word day in and day out. I do not get weary, I am not afraid. I continue steadfastly in God’s will for my life, and I am seeing the manifestation of God’s glory in my life.. Hallelujah!
