Recharge with the Word

Moses said to them, “It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat. Then he said to them, “No one is to keep any of it until morning.” Exodus 16:15b,19

 

Once upon a time while the Israelites were in the desert, they started grumbling about being hungry to Moses. Moses talked to God, and the Lord answered him that he would miraculously rain down bread from heaven to feed them.

 

The next morning there was dew all over the comp, and when it dried, there were white, flaky wafers great for eating that made the people say ‘What is this??’. It was the bread from heaven, hallelujah.

 

However, there was something about this bread. It only lasted for one day, and then it would get so bad. It was not useful the next day.

 

Now, the Word tells us that the happenings/stories in the Old Testament are written to be examples to us

 

Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. 1 Cor 10:11

 

But what example is this particular story trying to show us?

 

According to the Bible, manna is a figure of the Word of God (Ex 16:4, John 6:51, John 1:1. )

 

Just like manna had to be gathered everyday, studying the Word of God has to be done everyday. Taking it in yesterday is not enough for today, and today’s own cannot make up for the next 4 days.

 

To keep it fresh, we have to keep on taking it in everyday. We need to recharge every day! The message from the example given to us in the Old Testament is that, without this, just like manna became useless the next day, we can make the Word of God ineffective in our lives if we do not take it in consistently.

 

Let the Word of God have great power and effect in your life today by taking it in everyday.

 

You shall win in Jesus Name.

 

CONFESSION

I am taking the Word of God in everyday. I am full of the Word, and it is working mightily in my life. I am blessed in my going out and in my coming in. No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and I win in every issue of life through the Word that has filled my spirit, in Jesus Name.

John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

John 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
